SH1231 -- Folded Steel Blade in Shirasaya (bo-hi)
For those wishing to build a custom Samurai sword on a CAS Hanwei blade, we offer these bare blades in shirasaya. All are forged and differentially hardened in the same traditional fashion as the “forged” and “forged & folded” line of swords. The SH1094 has the same geometry as the Shinto Classic blade but is ungrooved to facilitate its use in building a cutting sword. The SH1231 folded steel blade is that used on the Tiger Katana and includes the grooves (bo-hi) featured on that piece, while the SH1230 is the same blade without grooves.
Made by Hanwei.
