The AB2729 Jack Chains Jack Chains are part of an Arming Jacket/ Jack Chains/Sallet/Gauntlets/Glaive set reproduced from museum originals. Jack chains were an important part of the protective equipment of the medieval foot soldier who, typically, wore a padded arming jacket (“jack”) to protect his upper body with tied-on Jack Chains to protect the arms from slashing cuts. Our Jack Chains are crafted in 14 gauge steel with a full elbow plate.
